Becoming A Signatory
Becoming a signatory to "Hakha Absolute Single-used Plastic Reduction Charter" is simple. We charter in the following. Potential signatory can contact one of our team member to sign the charter. All signatories are provided with "Certificate of Recognition" for their commitment towards climate care.
Hakha Absolute Single-used Plastic Reduction Charter
Plastic use in our city, like any other city in the world, can come with severe environmental, social, economic and health consequences. Therefore, we/I hereby declare that we - as the keepers of our planet - are entitled to protect our planet through the absolute reduction of single-use plastic and agree to act on the following action points for the reduction of single-use plastics:
- Carry and use reusable shopping bags: As the signatory to the Absolute Single-use Plastic Reduction Charter, we/I will carry and use reusable shopping bags. We will avoid packaging items and parcels with single-use plastic bags at the maximum possible level.
- Drink coffee, water and juice from a reusable cup: As a signatory to the Hakha Absolute Single-use Plastic Reduction Charter, we/I should avoid using single-use plastic cups, bottled water and straws.
- Feed soil, plants, vegetables and animals with food waste: As the signatory to the Hakha Absolute Single-use Plastic Reduction Charter, we should avoid packing food waste with single-use plastic bags. We/I agree to use food waste to feed animals or plants, vegetables, and soil or decompose it.
As signatories
- We/I will promote the agenda of Hakha Absolute Single-use Plastic Reduction Charter by sharing the charter information with my family and friends, and follow the commitment outlined in the charter.
- We/I commit ourselves to defending our planet and reducing plastic waste, using only reusable cups and water bottles and feeding soil, plants, vegetables and animals with food waste.
- We/I stand in solidary with all signatories to the Absolute Single-use Plastic Reduction Charter for the absolute reduction of single-use plastic bags.
